Growth and Acceleration Workshops

Strategic Alignment Workshops

Conducted with groups and teams to produce results that go beyond what is expected. They are self-organizing by design and utilize the needs and desires of the groups and team members to establish synergy and alignment of their purpose, possibility and accomplishments. Within typical applications, they take on the formulation and execution of strategy, the increase of revenue and profitability, the acceleration of major project timelines, the alignment of stakeholders around key initiatives (particularly where there is a history or expectation of different points of view, including joint venture and merger/acquisitions issues) and the creation of new markets or products.

Both workshops are conducted with key stakeholders of identified initiatives and are real time working sessions resulting in new levels of teaming and communication. Implementation and execution of what has been designed is immediate and put into action prior to the end of the workshop with identified accountabilities, responsibilities, committed results and action plans for accomplishing the results.

The projects and initiatives that emerge from Growth and Acceleration Workshops and Strategic Alignment Workshops fall into the Breakthrough category.  A project requiring a Breakthrough is when results are discontinuous from the past, the team or group doesn’t already know how to produce the results and the results will make a lasting contribution to the company or organization.

A Client's  Experience

International Consumer Products Company utilizing Strategic Alignment Work

This consumer products company had just been acquired by a larger organization. The company was historically number two or three in its market and senior leadership was a “revolving door”.  Executives were moved about every 18 months from division to division.

Accomplishments

In three sessions of three days each, the CEO of this international consumer products company and his direct reports accomplished the following:

Formulated a vision of the organization

Designed communication structures to cascade the vision through the organization

Designed their roles and the relationship of accountabilities between the roles, allowing for clear expectations regarding performance and cross-functional deliverables

Established a regular “all-hands” quarterly communication forum and a process to orchestrate their presentations at these forums that allowed the executive team to clearly demonstrate to the organization that they were working in alignment with one another

Results

As a result of these accomplishments, the company produced the following outcomes:

Achieved sales results that were 10% above the company target

Brought a breakthrough new product to market while reducing their average product development cycle by one year

This new product was able to make the first clinical superiority claim of 25% improvement in performance

50 patents were awarded to the   product and its development  process

Created the first genuine cross-functional product development organization in the company’s history
